Society for Computer Technology & Research (SCTR), SCTR was formed in 1983 to start separate stream of Computer Engineering and encourage research in computer technology. In the same year Pune institute of Computer Technology (PICT) was established by the Society to conduct BE Computer Engineering affiliated to Pune University. In 1995 BE Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Course was added and now in 2001, BE (IT) has been added.

Our first batch of students passed out in 1987 and since then, this Institute has passed out nearly 1000 to 1500 Computer Engineers of which a large number are settled in America in various well known Corporates. Ours is a premier institute attracting the best brains from within and outside the state. We have an enviable tract record in the placement of our students.

The enthusiastic Board of Trustee of SCTR obtained permissions from Government of Mahatrashtra, to start their first batch of BE (Computer Engineering) Course.

In 1998 student Chapter of IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineering) was formed at the Institute. Today we are proud that the PICT Chapter is the largest in the world. The Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (Ministry of Science & Technology) gave recognition to the Society's R&D Center in the year 1989. Students of PICT actively participate in activities conducted by IEEE, USA and CSI (Computer Society of India) every year.

Every year exhibition like IMPETUS & CONCEPTS showcasing projects are organized to keep students abreast of the latest technological advances and to inculcate in them the competitive spirit. The placement at PCIT has always being a satisfying experience to the students, as they are placed in top national and multinational companies. PICT has come a long way and marched ahead with technology, old and new, successfully marrying ethical, moral and professional values with technological excellence to produce an enviable bank of intelligentsia. We are committed to continuous improvement to help our students scale newer heights of success.

We believe that Convergence of Information Technology and Enterprise Management is critical to all sectors of our economy and to create a pool of Knowledge Professional who will shape tomorrow. We strive to build strong capabilities in Advanced Information Technology, Business Management and related subjects. We strive to build core capabilities in the domains of Enterprise Management, Business Processes, Computing Science and Hardware Technologies.

We believe that the challenge in front of us is to infuse the learning process with the spirit and letter of Entrepreneurship and Human Values. We strive to adapt and innovate Research - based proprietary Learning Models such as PICT-SITM Business Labs, ET-PM-Learning Model through Electronic Templates for Project Management; the 'Mentorship' program to create the spirit of Entrepreneurship in each student by recognizing, endorsing and encouraging self-confidence, innovation and the zeal to create enterprise.

FOREIGN STUDENT

We welcome students from foreign countries since we sincerely believe that the geographical boundaries between nations are disappearing. Our library with more than 20,000 books and journals - national and international - is open 24 hours of the day, all 7 days a week. We have internet access and more than 500 machines on campus. We have hostel and mess facilities and strive for an ambience which builds harmony and brotherhood, conducive to learning and continual improvement.
